Title for this position: Sr. ETL Developer
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Our cilent, a leader in the hotels industry, is seeking a Sr. ETL Developer on a contract basis.
Designs and creates the Extract, Transform and Load jobs for Data Warehouse
Communicates designs and technical requirements with technical teams and lead the technical implementation of the overall system
Represents engineering team in project meetings and solution discussions
Reviews System requirement documents prepared by
Guides and leads the creation of the system and detailed technical design. The candidate will assist with and is responsible for sound detailed design
Reviews proposed solutions and guide other resources through an efficient, high performant and secure implementation adhere to industry best practices and standards
Works with Multiple Associate Technical Leads and other Technical Leads across multiple systems to achieve project goals for a project.
Communicates with the project team, support teams and strategic partners effectively to achieve the project and solution goals
Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills
Strong hands-on experience in development of large-scale ETL & EDW applications/systems and working within Data Management and MDM environments
Experience working on large cross functional projects.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in a team environment
Must be able to communicate effectively and build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions
Manages time and activities to work on multiple initiatives at the same time
Puts together estimations, presentations, risks, and solutions
Works well in a matrix organization leading employees and consultants
Team player who can mentor and guide developers and strategic partners on strategic and tactical application designs
Excellent analytical, problem solving and technical skills
Good, verbal, and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Communication skills to clearly articulate and represent engineering team in project and/or solution meetings
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent experience
Master’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
12+ years of related technical work experience in the implementation of complex, large scale, enterprise wide projects including analysis, design, development and delivery.
10+ years of experience with Informatica ETL
10+ years of Data warehouse and BI experience.
In-depth experience with Informatica PowerCenter / Enterprise PowerCenter Grid.
Informatica Cloud and iPaaS experience is preferred
Strong experience leading multi-site and/or off-shore development teams.
Experience with various software development estimation techniques.
Must have in-depth knowledge of data best practices
Must have a background and knowledge in enterprise data strategy and/or information architecture
UnderstandsOur BI Reporting Requirements and warehouse ER diagrams.
Proven record of complex business requirements handling.
Strong Database & Performance Tuning Knowledge
SME for all ETL/Informatica related design and implementations.
Experience in AWS services such as S3, Elastic Beanstalk and Cloud Formation
Experience in AWS managed databases such as Dynamo and Redshift is a plus
Ability to perform data related design reviews and code reviews.
Experience with dimensional modeling using star schema and snowflake models
Experience working in Agile projects
Hotel industry experience a plus
